Sadly, the "original prototype" image was probably someone's idea of a joke using Photoshop.  It is actually a GT40 kit car, shown in this un-modified image:

I found this photo on the famous French forum, and believed the inscriptions.. :-\

Jean Daninos wrote in his Facel-Vega book that the car's construction was stopped at 80 percent stage, and after Facel-Vega closed down, the car was dismantled.
