1 point for who will be able to tell me which car was this: make, model and year.
I do not know who modified it, and I don't think it's a known coachbuilder...
If you haven't registered yet, you need to do so in order to reply with your answer.

No Skoda...
No Renault...
No Citroen...

I won't lock it for any incomplete guess...make\model and year...

Otto Puzzell

Looks British; perhaps it's based on an Austin.
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

This car is the obscure work of an unknown coachbuilder.
I have the make (Fiat) model (?) and year (?) of the donor car.

Allemano

This might be older as it looks. I go for an early 1950 body on a Fiat 508 C chassis....?

so it is during the war? (by the way, what a bad way of timing, as in Europe we are talking about at least 2 rather big wars during the life of the car.

Paul Jaray

Assuming war-time from 1939 to 1945, this model was made in that time range.

I found this, but it's in Italian and google makes a hopeless translation of it:

"questo settore ha una varietà di modelli incredibile. Basti pensare che il giovane Elio Zagato per il suo esordio in corsa nel primissimo dopoguerra, smantellò una Topolino furgoncino in uso nella sua carrozzerie, trasformandola in una sport barchetta. La Topolino da corsa oltre che avvicinare allo sport automobilistico un vero esercito di dilettanti, fu anche trampolino di lancio di piloti divenuti in seguito dei grandi campioni fino a stringere fra le mani il volante di una Formula 1."

Does it say that Elio Zagato made a Topolino Furgoncino based barchetta during the war?

Paul Jaray

Yes, he took aTopolino Furgoncino in use in his workshop and made a sport barchetta out of that.
This is much easier: I have only a model name and a year for this car, and I don't know who made it.
For a point you just have to complete the correct model: Fiat xxxx Topolino 19xx.

1939 or early 1940 (when Italy was not involved yet in the war)?
