Title: Autodesign in Nederland
Published: 1993, Waanders
ISBN: 9066303727
Subject: Dutch build cars

The book "Autodesign in Nederland" probably is well known by a lot of you guys out here.

The book, published in 1993, written by Jan Lammerse en published by Waanders is probably the most well known book about Dutch cars. It is also probably one of the most complete. Written by one of the members of the then new organisation Conam, I got my example by pure chance in early 2000. At that stage it was at my local bookshop for the bargainprice of 19 guilders, which is not even 10 euro.

It sparked a renewed interest in cars for me, and a starting point to buy some books later on.

The book printed in colour has a soft cover and has some small (minor?) errors and ommisions, but surely must be considered the standard book for Dutch cars. Pictures to follow. The book was - as far as I am aware - only published in Dutch.

PS) Other books about Dutch cars: "Historisch overzicht van de Nederlandse Autoindustrie" by M. Wallast and "Oude auto's en hun maklers" B. Den Heldt.

Ahah...yep, that was almost a wholesale order from AutoPuzzles members via some Dutch online bookshop, no wonder nearly everyone here has this book :D

guido66

It was their best-selling book for a while. They still have one copy left, but upped the price to € 50,-  ;)

I'm about the only one here that didn't buy it. Perhaps that's because I was too lazy to walk the 200 meters from my house to that very bookshop?  ;D

Oh, Well..

It would have been neat, but its his book.

He can write it any way he wants to...

DeAutogids.nl

I suppose today that book would look different.

metalshapes

Could be...

But I built and raced my single seater in the late'80s, so I think that is before the book came out.

DeAutogids.nl

The Neva definitely is too. What I am trying to say is that because of that book others have come forward with their cars. And of course we had some new makes since then too.

Perhaps...

I dont know what the criteria were.

Yes, I've seen him race.

BTW, I'm sure that its clear, but Jan Lammerse is a different guy than Jan Lammers.

( seen him race too...)

I am aware of the difference (see my initial post)

I made an English translation of this book 'Autodesign in Nederland' for one of our fellow Autopuzzlers who does not speak Dutch, a limitation that most of the Autopuzzles members probably have in common.
So if you also own this book, do not speak Dutch and want to receive the English translation I made, just send me a PM.
(Do not expect a translation without linguistic errors, but my English translation will for sure be easier to understand for most of you than the original Dutch text.)

Original pic was missing.
I replaced it with mine and here you are few more:

Looking for a reasonably-priced copy of this one, if anybody here sees one for sale

I've tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full. I'd like to get a copy of this if possible, could you please PM me?
