Ooops...France-Jet 175, built under licence from Egon Brutsch, based on the V2N.
Marketed by Société France-Jet, part of Société Air Tourist in Paris, made its debut in 1958 with a 175cc Ydral engine.
A later version had a 280cc AMC engine and was also exported in the USA!

I really wonder why this made it up to the pros...

But I´ll give a very well deserved point to PJ!

This is not the France Jet car that came to America.  A very different 280cc car was shown at the New York Auto Show in 1960, also from France.  The very front corner of it is shown in the first picture.

A prototype for a larger France Jet was made by the Lofstrand Corp. in Rockville, Maryland in 1961, with an 1100 Kohler engine.  That car still exists.
