Would J. J. McClure have loved it?

For one point, please respond and identify this car.

DeAutogids

I can swear I have seen this puzzle somewhere already

Wendax

I couldn't find it on a search.

DeAutogids

Must have made a mistake, though I do the name of the car.

No idea what the name is, but it looks like a Vauxhall turned into a Firebird...or somethin' like that...!

Not a Vauxhall, but the Firebird appearance is intended.

This is an Arcadipane Imitator ; it's an Australian kitcar designed by Peter Arcadipane. He made several kits, all of them based on Holdens (Arcadipane Mystere, Taipan and Bobcat). But he is mostly remembered for the car that Max Rockatansky drove in the Mad Max-movies, the black Interceptor (actualy a modified 1973 Ford Falcon GT XB).

That's the one. Another point for you, congratulations.

Some source reports the name was "Intimidator" instead of "Imitator"...

"Imitator" seems more apropos, and seems to be the much more prevalent spelling on various sites.

Does anyone has other photos of the Arcadipane Imitator? This red one seems to be the only one around ...

Otto Puzzell

It's a re-bodied 1970's Holden HQ Monaro, so I suppose the innards look thus.

The designer apparently was partly responsible for the latest Lancer of Mitsubishi.
