For 1 point what's this, built by whom, when and where?*

No connection to Maserati (apart from looking like one!)

Mostly correct, yes.
It was built in Norway in the early 1950s and has a US engine - not an Auburn though, but I can see why he thought that...

That's the car yes; you did well to get this one as I thought it was really obscure..
But.. you still haven't got it fully correct.
The engine has Ardun heads but it's not actually an Ardun engine; so what engine are they fitted to?
Greger Strom did the bodywork but the car itself was not actually built by him; who built it?
Locked for you to dig a bit more!

That's it yes.
I actually have it as a Ford flathead V8 but that's much the same thing I guess!
The bodywork was built by Greger Strom at Norsk Flyindustri, so he used his knowledge of aluminium aircraft construction.
Here are more pictures, including a fairly current one:

Great looking car indeed. There were some nice specials in Northern Europe, you know...

For those that don't know, the Ardun 'heads were aluminium overhead valve conversions for the side valve (US=flathead) Ford V8 which were developed by Zora Arkus-Duntov the man better known for his work on the Chevrolet Corvette which earned him the nickname "Father of the Corvette". Ardun heads were much used on Allards.
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Many thanks for that info, which I didn't know!

I just found this photo of the car ice-racing in 1953.
I must be right - that's what it says on Wikipedia

Who built this, and where, for a point please?
