Front lights and the fender's shape remember me the Ford Consul mkI, but it had front engine...and there is no grille...perhaps a prototype?

German ? Veritas ?

Only 1 question at once don't forget!
It's not German, ergo it can't be a Veritas either..

It is a prototype, yes, but there's no Ford connection.

There could be a small hint of steering wheel on the left side of the photo.

So British then?

1950 Jowett ERA Javelin prototype.

..because this is what it is, yes, the Jowett Javelin prototype with ERA-tuned mechanics.
But I'd love to know how you managed to find that before I award the point?  PM me if you like!

At first I thought it may be Standard Vanguard variant (because of the shape of the fenders and the V windscreen, but then I remembrered the Jowett Javelin had a similar look) so I googled Jowett prototype and found it from there I think.

I am old enough to have seen Jowetts on the street when I lived in England in the early 60's as a kid (they were old bangers then)

BTW I am a retired car designer, so I look at shapes and anylise them out of habit.

If you think I am a cheating , dont bother to give me the point, I just like remembering the cars and finding out about the ones I dont know. :)

Carnut

Thanks Wayne.
I'm happy to give you the point; you clearly know plenty..
Well done.

I wish I had.
I've only been able to find this one photo of it on just one location on the entire Internet; that's why I thought it would be a real teaser and take a lot of solving.  But WayneB is too much of an Expert for that!
