Tell me what is it and what is so special about it, for 1 point, please. ;)

choppertrainee

This is one of three Walter Wolf Lamborghini Countaches. It had more power, larger fenders, better wheels, and front and rear spoilers.

Ecnelis

All is correct, but there is one really odd thing about this car. What is it?

Topic locked for you.

Hmm... I know for a while the red one actually had 12 exhaust pipes, though they were later ditched and replaced by a more conventional four. Not sure if the Bugatti blue one ever had this though.

Ecnelis

No, it's not that...

choppertrainee

Sorry, that's all I've got!

gutofuhr

I can't think about anything odd besides the golden wheels and mirrors.

Ecnelis

Not that! Point for choppertrainee and I'm waiting for full answer - what is so special about this Wolf Countach?

1976 LP400 Walter Wolf Lamborghini Countach. This is chassis #1120202. It is the 2nd LP400 prototype. It  had the original factory (1st)5 litre powerplant & was know as the LP400. Later, the 5 litre engine was transfered to the 3rd prototype, known as the LP400s.

Well, that's pretty it - the engine was special. It was one-of-a-kind prototype 5l powerplant, which... was never owned by Wolf, it was loaned. It got later standard, 4l unit. Also special was the tail fin - it was electrically controlled from the driver's seat.

I think the 5-litre version was called LP500... :eyebrow:

"never owned by Wolf" can also be described as "Lamborghini retained ownership".

Interesting cars, these Wolf Lamborghini's

Like a lot of characters involved in F1 , Mr.Wolf was involved in some ducking and diving.

I believe that particular Countach was left registered in the manufacturers name for tax reasons, I read some of his others were registered in his wifes name.

He is back in the news atm.
