It is an electric runabout...but not a Studebaker...and it is from 1897 circa....

Well, the wooden parts seemed quite like it on the Studebaker picture I had, but I had noticed afterwards that the way the wheels relied to the frame, bicycle-like, were way off.
You gave me an hint with the date: it's an ECA (for Earl C. Anthony).

It is an anthony electric runabout from 1897 and I have no references for ECA.
Anyway that is the car, I've the same picture on my standard catalog of american cars, and the man on the car is in fact Earle C. Anthony (ECA).
That was hard...congratulations!

If you pay attention, the same black & white photo appears partly in your first post.

Quite an interesting man this Earle C. Anthony:
He opened wolrd's first gasoline station in 1903 and after meeting Claude Neon in Paris, he imported the first illuminated sign in the US, for his Packard's dealer shop.
