The January Rookie Clearout continues. If this isn't a Saab - then what is it?

@re

It is actually quite far from a Saab. And I'm a bit surprised that no-one has posted a single guess - it's really much easier than you think...

I know this car, I've got the same set of pics but I'm not able to find them!

You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

@re

Nope - the relation between this and a Corvair is just as non-existent as between this and a Saab. It has four wheels and an engine, though :)

Well. You're looking for something a wee bit more exotic than Corvairs, Minis and Saabs...

Not a Ferrari 250 P, the spiderversion of 250 LM?

Paul Jaray

It can't be a Ferrari 250 gto64, isn't it?

Or is it a 330 gt spyder by Fantuzzi?

Paul Jaray

Once again SeaLion beat me for few minutes.....

@re

You're very, very close. It's not a 250 P, it's not a 330, and it's not by Scaglietti. It's a one-off, and I'll need the correct (and quite long) model designation :)

@re

No. Actually, you've been terribly close, but you need to get the combination right ;)

Not a Ferrari 250 gto64 aniway...

@re

No. There's a connection to another continent as well (but that's the last clue you're going to get)...

It's pretty much like the Ferrari 250 gt 2+2 modified by Fantuzzi...

Ok, I found it!
That is a Ferrari 250 GT Fantuzzi Nart Spyder S\N2235GT

@re

Yes, it is pretty much like the 250 GT 2+2 by Fantuzzi. But not quite - it is the 250 GT Fantuzzi NART Spyder!

If only their were points awarded for naming what a car isn't, I'd be way ahead of Paul Jaray... ;)

Otto Puzzell

I appreciate that. Often other's process-of-elimination efforts lead me to correct answers, as well.

All in all, straight-on shots of the rear of automobiles are usually more difficult than shots of the front or side. I can think of plenty of cars that look very similar to this car when viewed from the rear. I though "Biota" when I first saw this, and though it a variation on that car, hence the "Mini" guess...
