By the number plate and RHD, it's Australian or Kiwi.  I'm going to guess Tontala from 1955.

You can ID a car by its blank numberplate!  :hail:

Still, it's not a Tontala  8)

I think this is The Record, a 1950s prototype road car built by Repco in Australia with a 2.5-litre Coventry-Climax engine.
A car is for life, not just for Christmas.

Repco is the name I was after!

Footnote: my info says it was powered by a 2.3-litre Holden engine fitted with a Highpower head. While it was never officially christened, it's been known variously as the Repco, Repco-Dean and Repco Record. Sadly it remained a one-off

Is there any front pic available?

I've read three were built, and 2 still exist.

That's news to me - but good news!

The size and shape, the white outline and the location of mounting screws on the number plate says Australian, particularly state of Victoria.  "54 Chevys were built by Holden in 1955, so tail lights are locally sourced.  That part was easy, but I didn't know the car.  A book I have says there was a car called Tontala made in '55, but it's design was unknown.  What else could I guess?  And then be wrong.

Another period pic which shows the car in all its beauty...
