This one is quite obscure, but not entirely...

Fiat 500 based again? Any connection with Rivarola/Berardi equipage?

Paul Jaray

The engine is bigger than the Topolino's one, can't tell if it's derivated or not. About the pilots...are you thinking about Sail ? That's not.

faksta

It was the number on the above photo. I thought of 1948 MM.

Paul Jaray

Wrong race and year...and for the records, the car that raced at the MM in 1948 was a 1100 by Sail.

faksta

Strangely, the official MM database says it was a Fiat 500 and raced in S750 category  ???

That is the hardest problem with those database. You will find only tens of Fiat 500 and 1100 but not the name of the specialist who modified it. That is because the car was registered at the race as a Fiat. A lot of minor racer firms disappeared and there is no sign of them in those lists.
About the Sail, I was wrong, my book reports that a Sail 1100 Barchetta raced the 1949 MM, #505, a nice car indeed.

Patriarca 750 (1948-1949)
Yes! In the first picture the car was ready to start the 1949 Coppa Toscana, and in the other Rodolfo Patriarca is at the wheel of the 1948 version, realized for Cap. Giuseppe Musolino. Both cars were made by Mario Faina's coachworks.
Don't tell me you hava also this book "La Sport e i suoi artigiani"!

A I stated before, if your pic is coming from an Italian cars related book, than the chance that I have the same book is...rather huge.

But from now on it will be very hard for me to earn points because I only have some knowledge about Italian related cars.
Almost all the rest is one huge balck spot for me.  >:(

Yes, and Paul Jaray did a kind of 'disservice' to post many of those in his 'ITALIAN Coachbuilders' topic..  ;D
Let's hope he won't start a new Alfa Romeo topic!  :lmao:
