This book is awesome.
More than 1600 pages full of data.
There are all the makers that ever built a single car in the USA.
Do you know that there was a Porsche from Massachusetts in 1905?
For the biggest makers, there are the general info about the marque and technical details of the cars, year-by-year production, with a chart containing 'ballpark' pricing informations, factory price and lot more.
For the others, the stpry of the marque, the list of all the models and the value, or just few lines in case of obscure ones.
The index is divided by type ( 4 pages with 5 columns each page containing Alternative power cars, Cyclecars, Highwheeler) and by country (17 pages 5-columns!).

Absolutely huge, the final reference about American cars.

The paper and the pictures are not of the highest quality.

And the really mind-blowing thing is that this book isn't complete! I've seen a few books which dealt with cars built in a given state (e.g. Indiana).

But it is the best reference on early American cars

I love this book. It's on my computer desk and not a day goes by without opening it. It must have been a huge task to compile this book - it's just unbelievable source of information.

I'm actually reading it, page by page.
I stopped at pag.1104 (but I skip the chapters about big makers...) but I'll read it all one day.

I just managed to buy a Standard Catalog of American Cars 1805-1942 and a Standard Catalog of American Cars 1946-1975 and a Standard Catalog of U.S. military vehicles 1940-1965 for 6 Euros each. I think there will be enough to read for the next days
