I don't wish to strut my stuff, Mr. McPherson, but I'm fairly certain that is a Ford Consul, approx 1950!

Oh thank goodness! I was going to guess a Ford Prefect, but that would have been just a bit too precious.
Measures with mics, marks with chalk, cuts with axe, beats to fit and paints to match

Yes - its a rare convertible MkI version - made by Carbodies in the UK. As hinted at its the first use of McPherson struts and also first OHV motor for Ford UK. One came up for sale in my neck of the wood (no I'm not buying it!)

Interestingly the Vedette had struts first!
