I was thinking maybe a Pegaso with logo on there but I was unable to find a matching car

Not a Pegaso - this was a much more plentiful car, from a company that is still selling cars for the street and for the track.
That Pegasus looks like Mobil sponsorship to me.
Must be American.
The sponsor's decal is indeed Mobil's Pegasus.
The car and driver both hail from outside the US.
One is British; the other, German.
The car, to my eye, looks Porsche 550'esque.
The driver? Lord Humbert Peabody Graveson III
A Porsche it is!
Good show, that!
This chap was not lord. In this photo, he's hoping to win just one more for the Zipper.
The biggest clue in the history of this or any other universe, and no more guesses? ???
Edgar Barth in a Porsche RSK?
Porsche yes, Barth, no.
Hint - Google 'Porsche and Zipper'. ;)
Davey Jordan
Porsche RS-60
Alas, no. Remember, this race took place in the US, where race distances were not measured in kilometers.
Scooter Patrick in Otto Zipper's Porshce 904.
It's one of Zipper's Porches; the driver ID is still up for grabs.
Yep - no kilometers in this picture...
Ken Miles
Porsche RS61
Woo-hoo! We have a winner! :D
Puzzle pic returned.
