Definitely looks L-M Cougar to me; concept car maybe?

Other than that, probably an Alfa....

Gawd I suck at this.

Uhhh....Riviera prototype?  (front end....)

Otto Puzzell

No you don't. There is much time for you to improve. One day, perhaps you shall be the master, and I the student.

I see the Riviera resemblance, but not a Riviera of any kind. However, it does share it's name with a different, departed GM model.

If I squint, after banging my head fiercly against my desk, the above-beltline profile sorta has a mid-series Malibu look to it....

Howforth, since Malibus ("Malibi"?) are currently being made (aren't they?), I'll guess Chevelle....or Cutlass.....or........

Otto Puzzell

Not a Chevelle....or Cutlass.

Well, the front end sure LOOKS like an early Riviera.  But the back reminds me of my father's '65 Grand Prix.

So I'm guessing a Pontiac variant on the Riv, possibly named LeMans.

Or not..... ::)

Not a GM design or product.

SeaLion

It is the AMX II prototype from 1966.

Rich

DAMMIT.  I knew that, BION.  Must be an age thing....but as soon as I read SL's response, a door opened.

Oh Well....back to the old electronic brain....

AARRRGGGH.

Wish I knew a good shrink..... :o

How could it be the AMX ll, then?  I Googled AMX ll[actually AMX 2] and sho'nuff, there it was, but what about the GM model with the same name?  I thought it might have been the AMC Cavalier, but it was a 4 door, and it was red...

There must be something I'm forgetting...

You are not missing anything. The reference material I was using had the pictures of the AMX II and Cavalier swapped, and I didn't catch the error until you mentioned it. Oddly, I had posted the Cavalier in another site some time ago, and should have immediately known better. A tip of the KarnUtz tam to you, and to all of our readers, who are ever-vigilant and extremely knowledgeable.

A pair of nice, big period pics:

There will always be confusion and discussion about what the actual AMX II is. I suppose this car could be called the AMX/2 which at least looks different on paper...

This is the pushmobile designed by Dick Teague. This car is in a collection in Calgary, Alberta.

And don't get me started on the AMX III vs. AMX/3  :D
