Oh I know what it is, and it ain't no car, that's for certain.

It's the tomorrow you can't have today! The future itself, represented in the TransLux lines of the NextSonic Ultrahydrasuperlativicious automobile of tomorrow. Borrowing heavily from our aerodynamic researcher, this coiled tiger of a car is poised, ready to strike at the hearts and pursestrings of the men and ladies of today. Dynamic, tensed, overstressed, bargelike and bubblesque with over three tons of road hugging weight, yet seats nearly three 3/8 scale mannequins across its Sofa-King comfortable bench seat.

It's the Ford La Tosca.

It's the Future. Someday, maybe never.

It's also 3/8 scale model created to assess how vehicles look in motion. In this case, overwrought, heavy, bloated and inefficient.

Don't hold your feelings back, porridgehead.  You are amongst friends.  It is okay, please, delve deeper and share with us how you really feel.

Man, I gotta lay off the Redbull/Xenergy/Bulldog/Atomic X/Happy Bunny Spaz Juice cocktails. It may give you wings, but they are angry, distorted, mutant wings of imminent death.

Lest one thinks that I have anything personal against this car: I don't. It is only a 3/8 scale model of a never produced automobile and having anything personal against it would be a sign of a serious chemical imbalance. Or so my therapist says. The jerk.

It's just when I look at  this rocket inspired chrome suppositor... errr... the overall design of this car and I think of what Exner was creating with Chrysler about this time, or even the Duntov Corvette prototypes and I can't help but feel that the three martini lunch really is a bad idea. At least for car designers. Ford car designers.

That whole future thing was a really bad idea. Still is, as far as I can tell.

Ford La Tosca from 1959. It is actually built on a 3/8-scale radio-controlled chassis, so the designers could see the design proposal in motion.

Edit:  :-\ Ooops! porridgehead had all of that. Well, I agree with him. 8)
