It was news to me when I stumbled across this, but you guys will probably solve it as soon as hit "Enter".

...and, as irony would have it, I actually know this one....I'll wait for others to nail it....

Doofus One calling Doofus Two...come in Doofus.....do you read?

Click the pic....... Name the car

as irony would have it,

Yes, please hold off for a while. If it got solved on the first go-round, my self-esteem would suffer a tremendous blow and I would have to go into therapy for a few years - if not decades!    ::)

If it turns out that your hunch is correct, you will be awarded a "point", posthumously if need be.    :P

And while it may LOOK like something that those silly people at McLaren would cook up, it is not, in fact, a McLaren.

OK, rich.  Name it and claim your prize!     ;)

Oh, heavens no...it's WAY too early around here to tip one's hand....

I can tell you that it's got a V-8 and weighs something like 1200 lbs....good for 0-60 (or so I'm told) in less than 2.5 secs....... :o

Also....it ain't cheaparo.....

MG

You clearly know whereof you speak. It is indeed one of the fastest road legal cars EVER!

So, for now, it will be our little secret.

Anyone else wanna take a shot at this little pinata?

PS. Its WAY cheaper than a Veyron!    ;D

The 0-60 time is in the sportsbike category!....if I had the cash, might be a fun option for those rainy Idahodays......

The judges have decreed TWO gold medals - one for Rich and one for Graywolf!    :applause:

Here is the lowdown on the car:

Year  2006 concept, late 2006 production
Engine 2.4 litre supercharged V8
Transmission 6 speed sequential RWD
Max speed 200 + mph (est)
0-60 mph 2.5 seconds (est)
Horsepower 500 bhp @ 10,500 rpm
weight 465 kg / 1102 lbs

The British supercar which was to be the Freestream T1 became the Caparo T1 after automotive consultancy firm Caparo bought the Freestream T1 project. The two ex-Mclaren engineers, whose previous projects included the Mclaren F1 and Mercedes Mclaren SLR, and started the T1 project have been kept on as design and engineering directors. So there isn't much difference to the actual car. Other than the name.

The Caparo T1 is an ultra-lightweight super which has a greater power-to-weight ratio than the 1000 bhp Bugatti Veyron, two times greater in fact. The first Caparo T1 is due to be unveiled at the Grimaldi Forum in Monte-Carlo (April 20th - 23rd 2006) before an audience of 450 VIP's, including royalty.

The Caparo T1 weighs in under 500kg is a tandem two-seater which is powered by a mid-mounted supercharged V8 developing approximately 500 bhp. This 1000bhp-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio is the Caparo T1's ultimate weapon. A 0-60 run of just 2.5 seconds is expected, and with its race car technology and extensive wind tunnel testing the T1 can generate up to 3G of cornering and braking force.

PS: Apparently I was wrong about the cost.  Seems like $1.2 BILLION is the price of admission!   :o
