Today, dear friends and colleagues, I submit to you a puzzle of a different sort. A devilishly difficult dirty dozen of transportation devices, in need of identification. Some are difficult, some are easy. However, to be declared the winner on this particular puzzle, you must correctly ID all 12 of the vehicles shown, per the criteria given below each picture. No points for 1, 2, 3....etc. You must ID all 12. If you are the first to do so, I'll award 12 points (one per car), plus a bonus (for solving the puzzle).

Can you stand the pressure, knowing that if you guess early, and ID one or more of these cars, you are most assuredly helping a fellow puzzler get the points? Do you dare tip your hand early? Or will  you lie in wait, pouncing at the last possible moment – perhaps waiting too long?

Are you up the challenge?

Let's begin:

#1 Carrozzeria, and the production car upon which it is based.

#2 Make and model

#3 Make, model and country of origin

#4 Make, model, and production car upon which it is based

#5 Manufacturer, and production car upon which it is based

#6 Carrozzeria, and the production car upon which it is based.

#7 Manufacturer and model designation

#8 Make and model

#9 What is it, and who built it?

#10 Make and model.

#11 What is it, and who designed it?

#12 Make and model

If you haven't registered yet, you need to do so in order to reply with your answer.  You can do so by clicking here.

Also, please be sure to check out our other puzzles, and, please post a puzzle of your own if you'd like - the more, the merrier. :D

Thanks!

Any hints on which ones are easy? Looking at that dirty dozen I am drawing not just a blank but on a lot of them, I don't even know where to start.

Nice puzzle Karn.
Measures with mics, marks with chalk, cuts with axe, beats to fit and paints to match

Oh this is devishly diabolical of your, Master Utz. IF we guess, we risk revealing important information to others. If we DON"T guess, then we never find out nuthin'. Cruel, cruel, Utz!    :D

Not one of those. I'll see if I can dig up another pic.

grobmotorix

not american, not european  :o

asian, then?

Otto Puzzell

By "not one of those", above, I meant it was not a Brockway, nor an electric vehicle.

This truck is American.

Sorry for the confusion.

Like the Land Rover and Jeep Forward Control versions this might be based on something we might know better?

Was it used as a milk truck, too?

Otto Puzzell

I don't know if it was used as a milk truck. It was built by a well-known manufacturer of cars and trucks.

grobmotorix

It  has a rather strange body. Something like an airport service vehicle...

Well, my first guess was Jeep, my second is Studebaker.

Unfortunately Salmson is not american...

Otto Puzzell

Yes! Now, can you give the rest of the answer?

#11 is kind of a Jeep airport vehicle... :-\

I only know the FC Jeeps (too big and the Fleetvan (too small, I fear)

Otto Puzzell

grobmotorix

So would you accept "Studebaker based airport ground support vehicle" for pic # 11?

O.K.:

I´ll go where a man´s got to go and uncover my proposals. I hope I did get all of your questions right and understood them the right way.

So here they are:

#1: VW-Beetle-based Vergo Chiasso 1956, swiss roadster

#2: Alfa Romeo Giulietta Giardinetta Carrozzeria Colli Station Wagon
changed my opinion afterwards: Colli is bullshit this is the BONESCHI WEEKENDINA, based on the AR Giulietta

#3: FSO Warszawa 223 from Poland

#4: Hamblin DeLuxe Roadster ca.1956/57 based on Austin 7/Ford chassis
to be changed? Look at my comment later...

#5: Convair Roadster with Gullwing - Top, based on a MG TC

#6: Seat 1400 C Serra descapotable Frua designed / overall technical layout by Dante Giacosa

#7: Yamaha YX30/II Concept Car 1961, Japan

#8: AGEA (Atelier Genevois d`Etudes Automobiles) de Toledo, ca. 1954/55 with Crosley engine

#9: Austin-licenced Nissan/Datsun A50 Cambridge Countryman, built in Japan

#10: Mazel Identity i1 Concept Car

#11: Studebaker 1964 truck prototype, designed by Randy Faurot

#12: Speedex Sirocco

I'll do one more check of your answers before I declare you the winner, but, by Jove, I think you've done it!

The next one will be harder, I promise.
