 What the heck is this, and what is it made out of?

That's the tulip wood bodied Hispano Suiza that we used to see quite often in the 1960s, but which must be in a museum now as it rarely appears

As modelled at 1/15 scale by ace model builder Gerald Wingrove,  who drilled 13,000 holes for 0.012in (0.3mm) brass pins.  He was such a glutton for punishment that he made three models simultaneously!
