Regardless, the answer is 'no'.

It might not be the answer to your puzzle, granted, but dammit, that IS the bastard love child of an '80's BMW 6 series and a '70's AMC Ambassador.

No. :bonk:

It is the work of a much-respected Italian design house and a well-known high-volume automotive manufacturer.

And their stylists owned AMC and BMW's.

Wrong again.  :disbelief:

Perhaps you should stick to the rookie thread?

:hah:  Did you actually look at that car?

Yes.

I don't find it as repugnant as you apparently do. In general shape, the grill is similar to an early '70's AMC Ambassador. I do not see the BMW resemblance at all.

Is it maybe an Opel concept? Looks a bit like a Bitter.

Not an Opel or Bitter

It is the US-american short-lived Momo Mk. 1, introduced in 1971. Frua did the body design and Stanguellini made the chassis. The engine was a 5.7 litre Chevrolet V8 with 350 bhp, fed through either a 5-speed ZF or a 3-speed automatic transmission.
