Reminds me of a Ford Mustang II, designed by DeLaRossa. But that was an interpretation of a Ghia design. So maybe this is the very Ghia concept for the Mustang II that DeLaRossa was inspired by?

Not a Ford or a Ghia design

Concept for Chevrolet Monza? Or Chevrolet Vega GT?

It sure resembles a Monza from that angle, but it is not a Chevrolet.

Difficult to tell from that angle but it could be a Puma GTB.

On second thoughts, having found some clearer photos, not a Puma because the bonnet/wing relationship is wrong.

Is it another GM member, perhaps Buick?

Not from a Big 3 manufacturer, or AMC, either.

Just how unconventional, exactly?  Are we talking steam, turbine, gerbil-on-treadmill...?

Interesting.  All online information about the Dutcher steam car, indicates it was one of two cars developed for the state of California, by two different companies.  The Dutcher was supposed to have been constructed from scratch, while the car from Aerojet Liquid Rocket Company was based on a Chevrolet Vega.

The puzzle car, which may still be part of the Jay Leno collection, is clearly based on a Vega as well.  I think Dutcher Industries was stretching the truth with regards to "constructed from scratch".

I haven't found any images of the Aerojet steam car.
