Is it Russian?
Asian?
Not Russian or Asian.
Whoops! That'll teach me to not check my sources and just go by memory. Sorry, it is Russian.
Looks like a toon UAZ 469 or Beijing jeep clone on a Suzuki LJ chassis..
Not a UAZ, Jeep, or Suzuki.
I think its an AutoVAZ (aka Lada). I found a very similar car called a Lada Bronto Landole, but its a bit different.... Maybe this is an update? Do Russian auto companies do updates??
It is not a Lada, but it is based on one.
:bump:
Dozor M
Close. You have the model name, Dozor, but I also need the company that produced it.
Axaj Dozor, presented in 1998. Axaj is spelled Akcaû in russian letters, and could also be spelled Axai or Aksai with western alphabet.
That is not the company I was looking for.
In 1995 an investment group called Doninvest bought the then called Krasnij Axaj ("Red Axaj"). In 1997/1998 Doninvest together with Daewoo built a new factory plant called TagAZ, but this prosject went burst after a couple of years. Then Citroën came in as a partner, and from 2002 Hyundai came in as another partner in the TagAZ project. Today the TagAZ factory builds the Hyundai Verna/Accent and Citroën Berlingo (also called Doninvest Orion-M). Krasnij Axaj still produces agricultural machines, as they did when Doninvest bought them.
So TagAZ Dozor or Doninvest Dozor may be the name you were looking for, but when this car was presented in 1998 it was actually named Axaj Dozor.

Doninvest Dozor was what I was looking for because that's what it was called on all 3 sites I found it at.
