One goes up and down, one goes 'round and 'round...

What is the connection?

The main staircase at the Flagler Mansion in Florida. Flagler is the visionary who built the railway that made the southern part of Florida accesible tto the rest of the world and allowed such things as the Sebring race track to exist.

Either that, or its the staircase at the Vandrbilt estate and the Bridgehampton track.

Or it could be Versailles and LeMans.

Or possibly Czar Nicholas' summer cottage and some obscure track in Mother Russia.

Need I go on?    :D

Hah! You fooled me. I was SURE you were going to say:

"And on,and on, and on......"    ;)

That looks more like the main staircase on the main deck of the Titanic to me.  The race course looks familiar, too; but I can't quite place it.  Is it Road Atlantta?

Or is that racecourse in Kansas?  Is it still in use?

That is correct!

That racetrack is not in Kansas, and it is still in use.

Perhaps it's the White Star racetrack ;D

Titanic, and Roebling...

Mercer?

Hmmm... a google on titanic and Roebling might turn up something... if only I wasn't too durn lazy to open a new window, type roebling and titanic in the window and hit enter. Oh well.

Roebling Road, Savannah Georgia.

Jeez, you might as well have posted a picture of the Brooklyn Bridge!

Washington Roebling whose family started, among other things, Mercer and Roebling Road, was one of the victims of the Titanic disaster.

Or maybe both the Titanic and Roebling Road are non-spectator facilities?

Well done, PH. You found two solutions, where your humble poster saw but one.  ;D

Truthfully, the Brooklyn Bridge would have been a good thing to post since the Roeblings were the ones who built it.  ;)

Sure, if it had been a rookie puzzle. I wanted people to work a bit harder to solve this one.  ;)
