The Bertone Type 33 was a similarly styled car that had a few prototypes made from it......

It is the concept Ford Coins from 1974, designed by Tom Tjaarda at Ghia. It was to be a future Ford Capri, capable to drive at over 70 mph with just 40 bhp. But the three-abreast sportscar concept with the driver in the center was soon forgotten by the motoring world.

A central driver was part of the original design draft of the Tucker, as well. Didn't make it off the drawing board.
