Nope! No car pictures here. Just a variation on a theme that’s already developed in some of our traditional, post-a-pic puzzles, wherein participants guess country of origin, designer, builder, etc.
So, here’s how this one works. I’ve a particular make, model and model year of automobile in mind. I’ve chosen a relatively well-know automobile that most any casual automotive enthusiast from most any land could ID, if they saw it.
The puzzle will originate with 20 available points. As each guess is expended, a point will be deducted from that 20. The person who correctly identifies the make model and model year of this car will be awarded 20 points, minus the points deducted previous to his or her correct ID guess.
Who would like to begin the guessing?

There were Standard and Austin out of my list, but when He replies "Not a Riley" when I asked if an Austin or a Riley...that means that it should be an Austin..or He should be a bad boy!

It is a post-war Austin closed-body, relatively well-known.....so it's impossible to determinate this one if it's an A-type car (a40,a125....) with only 3 questions left, it's also hard to spot the saloon series (1100-1300-1800), so is that an Austin Allegro, (assuming that not a mini implies not a mini-moke or a mini-cooper as well)?
-
Not an Allegro

And with that, the panel has been stumped!
The mystery car was the ubiquitous Austin FX4 (AKA, a "London Taxi")
