It's been done before, nevermind.
Twelve dashboards belonging to american cars. One point each.
I want the make and year. Don't bother with the model, it's usually the same dash on all.
Let's allow the rookies to have a go at it first.

It's only 4 days old, I know, but not a single guess. Whether rookies are getting scarce (they're so good they get promoted fast) whether they're busy elsewhere, whether...

I think #9 is a 1962 Chrysler...

As for another group puzzle I proposed, I will only confirm the 100% correct guesses.
If you only have the make right for instance and I say "Make is correct, year wrong", or the opposite, another puzzler may try one year after another until he is lucky and rob you from the point.

Here, then, I don't confirm.

Rookies ain't good enough...
Experts ain't good enough...

A couple of guesses:

#2 1957   Chrysler (Which I mistook for a 67 Mustang, at first - surprisingly similar design_
#5 1948 Imperial
#6 1955   Buick
#9 1960 Chrysler
#11 1956 Oldsmobile

You're right about all except #5. The image might have been misleading. I'm adding a less cropped version.

#10 is 1947 Buick Roadmaster or Super, and not 1948, but the difference is so slight (different color of radio buttons, different steering wheel) that I won't make no fuss about it. Here is a 1948 dash:

Thank you - that's generous. It's sometimes hard when using a brochure illustration as a reference - they often stretched images, used creative lighting, etc...

Here's the '48 pic I formed my (slightly flawed) guess from...

So you can see: chromed radio buttons instead of plastic, and half-circle horn ring.

Yes - I'm finding the remaining lot more difficult.

I'm not trying my luck with this. I'm hopeless with the exterior design of older American cars, so when you give me pictures of the interior I run and hide.

I like them to stay long enough... but I don't like them to stay too long.
Time for some clues?

#1 1940 Cadillac - Otto Puzzell
#2 1957   Chrysler - Otto Puzzell
#3 1959 Ford - Otto Puzzell
#4    Doesn't it look very similar to another one?
#5 is a 1942 Chrysler (beautiful plastics!) - Otto Puzzell
#6 1955 Buick - Otto Puzzell
#7  Not a spaceship yet
#8 is a 1939 Pontiac - Otto Puzzell
#9 1960 Chrysler - Otto Puzzell
#10 1947 Buick - Otto Puzzell
#11 1956 Oldsmobile- Otto Puzzell
#12  What are coats of arms made for?

#1  This, a Standard?

I had it pegged for a Caddy, but I'm trying to narrow it down...
You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

Ray B.

Indeed, the Standard of the World. It shouldn't be too hard to narrow it down.

1940 Cadillac, in fact, and I understand your mistake: they had the same dashboard and steering wheel. I thought there was a difference because when I checked I found the LaSalle's with a radio where there were only chrome strips in my picture. But the radio seemed optional at the time, because I found a picture of a Cadillac with the radio at the same spot.
