Yes, but not in US kit-car racers

A rather pointed jab, that, from the land of a million cobbled-together Austin 7 home-builts. 

This is not a kit car, but a (belatedly) successful road racing car built in the 1960's. It went into storage not long after it was completed, due to the builder / racer's poor health.

It was restored over a decade ago, and has won many vintage races since.
