Title: Ray B.'s Microcar Special Sale - Solved by Allemano, Quiller, gbitas, Arunas, Dynamike and Otto Puzz
Post by: Ray B. on October 25, 2008, 04:49:31 AM
It's been some time since we haven't seen a microcar puzzle, isn't it ?

I suppose some were longing for one, while this was a relief to some, as it would be to others to see less pre-WWI old clunkards, or less cars with doors that open in a bizarre way.
It's been some time since when haven't seen a group puzzle in the Rookie section too. So here is a bunch of 12, all packed in the same puzzle.
This is the grandeur of Autopuzzles, to bring everyone his daily ration of his favorite dish.

Here are the first six. Pardon my french.

And now the rest of it.
Oh, N°11 is not REALLY a microcar, but shares the same philosophy.
And N°12 is a bonus question: while the lad with the car will be easily recognized, you have to ID the car too, naturally, but also name the OWNER of that car.

As usual, points will be awarded when you're all done. This stays in the Rookie section for 10 days, are some are quite easy, then up it goes.

All right, I know it's only three days old, but there are so few active rookies left that I move this one upstairs. Thanks anyway, gbitas.

#12 - Elvis in an Isetta, but WHOSE Isetta? (the answer to this will secure the point)

Col. Tom Parker his manager got a BMW Isetta from Elvis Presley. Do you've meant that?

Let me add then, that #10 seems to be a Soletta. There is quite strong evidence to support this theory, three others have already guessed it, so why not me?

About your other guess, see @re's post just above mine.
And another award to @re for the funniest post of the day, in my humble opinion. How can you be Norwegian and funny like that? It thought it was too cold up there for people to make jokes.

Seriously, though, it really is. Yesterday it dipped below zero for the first time this fall. And my X1/9 is still sitting outside. The poor thing.

Blow that, it snowed last night in southern England and it's ten to midday now and it hasn't all cleared yet (even though thesun is shining)!
Global warming, indeed!

Strange! I've found the car Otto obviousely has in mind, but apparently nothing about the costumized black one with the knuckle dusters.

Otto is perfectly right, although I had it under a different name, the Electric Shopper. But this is the same car, same Long Beach company (maybe without "B&Z). It started sooner than 1961, as said by his source, because the black car is supposed to be a 1959, and I have a 1960 advertising. The car in the ad is very slightly different, but this a drawing, not a photograph.
