If you know this car one point will be added to your account.
Sometimes it happens that I'd like to have additional information about the designer, engine or characteristics.
I will let you know on these occasions!

Not bodied in 1948, though? This was built on the Rome-Liege-Rome Van den Plas-bodied T26 (which dates from 1949) after that ugly body was removed. I think more like 1951/52.

Yes, I think you're absolutely right.
According to the story on the website where I found this picture the car was originally delivered to the Belgian concessionaire in 1958 (sic) and was sold to British racing driver 'Goldie' Gardner, who commissioned Vanden Plas to build a cutting-edge body on to the chassis.  It was not very successful but nevertheless the car was displayed at the Brussels Show in 1959.  A later owner had the Oblin body fitted, which it still wears today.

You do read some rot on the internet and I suspect all the above dates have suffered from a 10 year shift!  It was originally delivered in 1948, bodied by VDP in 1949 and rebodied by Oblin in the early 1950s..
