I liked Otto's Puzzell so much that I asked him politely if he would let me steal the idea and post a similar puzzell of my own - and being the kind person he is, he agreed. So, here it is: City Of Industry II - the point is to link cities #1 - #12 with cars A to L.
The twist is that most of these twelve cars have never been mass produced, but they are tightly connected to twelve different automobile manufacturers. The cities are the locations of the present headquarters of these twelve manufacturers.
And since I have no website to link to, I'll have to post 12 pictures at a time. Happy puzzling!
And then: The cars.
Supremely difficult - I love it!
Oh - the Master loves it! Thank you. It will probably be promoted to the Pro level sooner than you know...
No sooner said than done. Promoted!
Well I´d combine town 1 (Göteborg bridge/S) with car A (Volvo Jakob Hotrod)
Town 9 (Molsheim church/F) goes with car D (Bugatti 57 with a 1952 special body, now to be seen at Autoworld/Bruxelles/B)
Town 10 (Wolfsburg castle/D) goes with car I (Volkswagen Tarek Dakar Buggy ca. 2002-2003)
Picture 11 shows the Lamborghini factory at Sant'Agata/I. This can be combined with the Lamborghini Diablo prototype shown in pic J at the works museum.
Mini Miss Liberty in pic 12 is situated in Tokyo-Odaiba/J and goes with the 1991 Nissan FEV concept car in pic H
Picture 7 shows the Grande Palais at Paris/F and goes with the Citroen SM swb sport prototype in pic B
Town 3 (Istanbul/TK)) goes with car K (Otosan Ford Taunus GTS), but I´m not really sure if it is Istanbul, to be honest.
now it´s 2:10 in the morning and I´m too tired to get the rest done...
#5 is Riviera Beach, Florida, home of F, the Mosler Twinstar, a twin engine Eldorado.
#6 is the gazebo in Hoschton, GA, from whence comes the Panoz Esperante GTR-1 in picture G.

I'll award the points like this: Two points for each correct pairing, but none for just one of the pictures. Which means you'll get 12 points for this, eventually. Well done!

Well done, and a total of four points will eventually be yours. I'm guessing that you didn't know what car the Panoz was until you spotted the easily recognizable gazebo from Hoschton :D or was it the other way around??
The Panoz was the give-away. I like anachronisms like Panoz, who were resolutely front-engined in a rear-engined racing world.
I know number 8, which I'm 50% sure is paired with L. but can't put a name to the car...
Keep on looking. You are unfortunately further away from the solution than you think.
This one is driving me nuts! :shiver:
I'm glad! That was the point! ;)
A little clue: All the cars (and geographic locations) left in this puzzle are from no more than two different continents (although some people prefer to see them as just one).
:bump:
That is, obviously, Europe and Asia we're talking about.
There is at least one giveaway here, if you look at what's been posted earlier.
Maybe our newcomers want to play?
3 can't be Istanbul, Grobmotorix's guess was wrong! Left is 2,4 and 8...
There is no stadion like that in Istanbul and no mountains around like those...
rule out 2.
The railway map of pic 8 shows not the geographical profile of Istanbul,... rule out 8
Left is location 4 which logically must be Istanbul, but I haven't got the slightest clue what this building's purpose is....
Somebody's barking up the wrong tree.
???
Let's just say you started in the wrong end with this.
Otosan wasn't settled in Istanbul? I quit for today — I'm too tired now!
;)
I'm somewhat confident #8 is a railway map of Seoul, Korea.
Is car E modified with Photoshop? I know one car which exactly looks the same – except of some essential details....

As I've stated earlier - points are for correct
pairings... ;)

I guess the question is whether I'd really make the puzzle so easy as to post the picture without editing it a tiny little bit...
You were cheating... (http://www.mysmilie.de/midi-smileys/verwirrt/1/0002.gif) (http://www.mysmilie.de/)
Picture #2 is the "Stadio Delle Alpi di Torino" which is linked whith car E the Alfa Romeo Group C prototype from 1992..
First I was searching for Milano, but due to the fact that Alfa Romeo was absorbed by Fiat — you won't fool me twice.... (http://www.mysmilie.de/midi-smileys/sportlich/1/0002.gif) (http://www.mysmilie.de/)

Careful with the rhetoric, please. ^-^
Hiding or obscuring the badging or other sure giveaways is not cheating. Neither is obscuring the number plate, FWIW.
Now, back to the game, and have fun! :)
No offense meant! Sorry! :-[
You are correct about the Alfa, Allemano - and your pairing is correct - which gives these results so far:
City 1, Göteborg, Sweden - and car A, 2008 Volvo Hot Rod Jakob - grobmotorix
City 2, Torino, Italy - and car E, 1986 Alfa Romeo Gruppo C Prototipo - Allemano
City 3 - ?
City 4 - ?
City 5, Riviera Beach, Florida - and car F, 1999 Mosler TwinStar - Otto Puzzell
City 6, Hoschton, Georgia - and car G, 1997 Panoz Esperante GTR1 - Otto Puzzell
City 7, Paris, France - and car B, 1973 Citroën SM prototype - grobmotorix
City 8, Seoul, South Korea - and car ?
City 9, Molsheim, France - and car D, 1952 Bugatti Type 57 'Brown' - grobmotorix
City 10, Wolfsburg, Germany - and car I, 2002 Volkswagen Tarek - grobmotorix
City 11, Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy - and car J, 1990s Lamborghini Diablo prototype - grobmotorix
City 12, Tokyo, Japan - and car H, 1991 Nissan FLV - grobmotorix
In addition to these, car K has been correctly identified, it's a 1993 Otosan Taunus - but it hasn't yet been linked to the right picture.
Keep going! Now you have to find out where the Otosan should be placed - and which car is made by a company with its headquarters in Seoul. Is that so hard? ;)

I know; I was hoping to help someone else along. I searched all the Koren car pics I could, to no avail.
C is the 1999 HYUNDAI FGV-II concept car which matches to city 8 Seoul.
(With a little help of Otto I have to admit)
....and I suppose that pic 3 shows the city of Izmit/Kocaeli in Turkey.
The German Wiki states Otosan's headquarter is in Istanbul. Obviousely English Wiki knows it better... ???
Car L is the Lada Priora. I leave to complete the group puzzle to Otto!
Excellent work! These are the results from the Norwegian jury (joke for Europeans only):
City 1, Göteborg, Sweden - and car A, 2008 Volvo Hot Rod Jakob - grobmotorix
City 2, Torino, Italy - and car E, 1986 Alfa Romeo Gruppo C Prototipo - Allemano
City 3, Izmit, Kocaeli, Turkey - and car K, 1993 Otosan Taunus - Allemano
City 4 - ?
City 5, Riviera Beach, Florida - and car F, 1999 Mosler TwinStar - Otto Puzzell
City 6, Hoschton, Georgia - and car G, 1997 Panoz Esperante GTR1 - Otto Puzzell
City 7, Paris, France - and car B, 1973 Citroën SM prototype - grobmotorix
City 8, Seoul, South Korea - and car C, 1999 Hyundai FGV-II - Allemano
City 9, Molsheim, France - and car D, 1952 Bugatti Type 57 'Brown' - grobmotorix
City 10, Wolfsburg, Germany - and car I, 2002 Volkswagen Tarek - grobmotorix
City 11, Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy - and car J, 1990s Lamborghini Diablo prototype - grobmotorix
City 12, Tokyo, Japan - and car H, 1991 Nissan FLV - grobmotorix
In addition to these, car L has been correctly identified - and I leave this final point for Otto Puzzell, at Allemano's request. After he has done the last pairing, I will award the points.
And about Wikipedia: There is a Norwegian version, too, but i never trust it. The English one is used by a far greater number of people, and is thus much more likely to be correct.
OK - #4 is the Olimp Sport Palace in Tolyatti, a city in Samara Oblast, Russia, which is paired with Car L - the Lada Priora.
Thanks, Allemano!
It certainly is. Well done, guys - the points tally is as follows:
12 points - grobmotorix
6 points - Allemano
6 points - Otto Puzzell
And hereby I declared this puzzle solved. There will soon be another one.
