something related to Peel?
No it is not related to Peel...
Left drive, so not British. Wheels look a bit Italian, so is it Italian?
Sì!
That's the Vico Sport 1000, powered by an Abarth engine
:o
Only one week for an obscure car like this? I took this pic from a book and I don't think there is something relevant about Vico on the net!
You are really amazing, congratulations!
Interesting car. Did Vico make anything else?
There was a Vico Alfa Romeo Giulia TZ; is it built by the same guy, resp, is it also Alfa based?
There were about 3 different cars by Autotecnica Vico, the first was a 1000 Sport Barchetta in 1964, in 1965 the car in this quiz and in the end on 1965 a second Sport Prototipo, a beautiful barchetta designed by Giuliano Laurenti with room for different engines.

That is a different story, Autotecnica Vico was named after Giorgio Vico, the Alfa Romeo was named after Ludovico Chizzola, co-founder with Carlo Chiti of the Autodelta.
I know, but on which cars the other Vico creations were based on?
The first Vico Sport from 1964 had an Abarth 750 bialbero engine raised to 1000cc and a chassis made by Vico.
This second Vico was totally different and the 1000cc Abarth engine was fitted in a modified 600 body (the car of this quiz).
The 3rd car was a Sport Barchetta, really nice (I'll try to add a pic) with different engines made always by the Vico.

Thanks :)
Seems like they've had something else, at least as far as I understood this note in Italian.

You're welcome, this is the #1
(sorry for the poor quality...I'm using the camera and uploading the pictures 'cause my scanner will ruin the book)
Ah...I thought it should have been from a bit later period :)
Somehow this post lost its meaning because I thought your previous one, Paul, was related to the link by me :D Thus, it appears the fourth car (yellow coupe on that page) existed?
This is the 3rd...
About your link, it's amazing, the email says VicoGiorgio and they are from Ventimiglia, like this Autotecnica Vico, so probably they are still in business!

Google told something about 'used cars' on Autotecnica Vico request...
I think now this is the only place on the web with all the production of Autotecnica Vico.
Thanks for all those infos! Very interisting for me in any way!
BTW: I believe faksta gave away an almost unsolvable mystery car... ;)

That was one of those cars I knew I'd seen, then it just hit me. I opened the said book up to the very page where the car was pictured. Weird! (fantastic book by the way)
Is it the same book?

Yes it is the same book. If you want to post other puzzles from this book, I'll happily abstain from answering them...
...and I will try to identify more interesting sports cars like this, if there are any more of them in that book.

Not really - I just didn't recognise it!
Feel free to answer to every single puzzle, if I post something else from that book, better for you! ;)
