it's a home built car
It's AWD and the 1.3L Hayabusa motor sits to the driver's side

He's actually considering production using a Hartley build 2.8L V8 (two Hayabusa motors)

The man is effing brilliant
he's putting that same Hartley built V8 into his Ariel Atom too

As you can read on the web page (http://www.dpcars.net/dp1test/info.htm) it's actually called the Random Research dp1, but apart from that you've obviously done your homework, so the point shall be yours! Nice going.

Honestly, I don't know. I thought it might be the initials of the guy who built it - but for all I know, his name might very well be Doodie Plop...

No, it's an acronym for the name of the designer Dennis Palatov (as the S and L in SeaLion is an acronym for my real name):

Random Research is actually Dennis Palatovs own design/engeneering company:

Very interesting concept...reminds me of the 1964 Hurst Floorshift Special and the STP Turbocar of 1967...should be very fast and well-balanced.

Yeah, I just stumbled across the Hurst on a web site the other day, and it's very similar.
