Not Australian. But apart from that, you might be onto something.

I see that I've mixed up here. I trusted my short term memory instead of checking it up. It's not a Ford at all!

@re

Chevrolet, yes. But the model designation is not "Caravan".

Its a Chevrolet Caravan diplomata 4.1, I know because my father-in-law had one.

@re

That is correct! You have been awarded your first point - and welcome to AutoPuzzles, Katia!

Was that ironic?

obviously the same body depending on year, mechanical configuration, etc can have any number of names and i of course defer to those with firsthand experience of that company and market;  for all i know diplomata denotes the model, year, spec or trim level and caravan is merely analogous to station-wagon, estate or break.
however, other more arbitrary results are, i fear, taking away from the enjoyable spirit of the game for me - is it knowing what is meant by an answer and near enough is good enough, or absolute taxonomic accuracy ?
i hope a sharing of knowledge and a useful database can be achieved and would like to contribute, so forgive me - no, it wasn't ironic, just childish.

But I think that it´ll be the first and last point of her, she doesn´t know any car outside the family cars (and the Sorrento I indicated her the book of my collection where she could find the picture...and didn´t get the point)  ;)

I didn't ask because I thought it was inappropriate of you, I asked because I honestly didn't understand what you meant. I can see from the pictures that it seems to have been known also simply as the Caravan, but I knew it under the more descriptive name of Diplomata Caravan - more descriptive because there was a Diplomata sedan as well, and Caravan is a well-known name for any station wagon. So I assumed that the more correct name of the two would be Diplomata Caravan - I also thought that "chevrolet caravan" sounded a bit like just something off the top of your head and not a serious guess - like "brazilian cortina" which is, at best, a very inaccurate description of a car. Now I know it was a serious guess, and as you have provided proof that you were right, I have awarded you with a point for your answer as well. And hereby you have earned your first point - congratulations!
