I agree that is, as you say, the first Chitty Bang Bang in the paddock at Brooklands, with Count Louis Zborowski at the wheel.

ImpishGrin beats Allan by 18 minutes and should bring  the point home. However, "make and model" being required, it will take a few more details to secure it. This is locked for him for 48 hours.

Oh, IG gets the point as he got in first! I was just adding location and driver's identity as noted on the copy of that photo I have here.
IMO Chitty Bang Bang I is make and model (and the "I" was retrospective when Chitty II was built). So far as I know the maker(s) of the major components, although known, were never referred to when talking (or writing) about this car.

Well, the car was known as Chitty Bang Bang. It was built by count Louis Zborowski and Clive Gallop in 1920. Merceedes chassis, 6-cyl. Maybach aero engine (23 litres). The photo was made in 1921 at Brooklands (the car's racing debut). Zborowski is behind the wheel. This is the first version of the car, later it was modified to a two-seater with a cowled radiator grill.
I can go on, but hope it's enough ;)

Of course it's enough. This was just a matter of recalling the educational purpose of Autopuzzles.com.
