Well, as far as I understand this website, it is a GAZ M1 as the pictures are described at their bottom, not as their top. Maybe I´m wrong, then it would be a GAZ M21.

But here´s the site, I´ve found the pic:

The chassis was designated as M1. It has a different designation with the tracks.

I am wondering if the different designation is some kind of obvious initialism in Russian

QuoteAutre modèle, le GAZ M1, chenillé. (1936-1938)

It´s called "Emka" in Russian - that´s for general

And this site:

http://www.autogallery.org.ru/gaz2138.htm

tells us this fact:

QuoteGAZ-21 - 3-axle
Quote6x4 GAZ-4, GAZ-M1 based 3-axles pickup.

So it seems that in russian nomenklatura, all 6x4 GAZ were called GAZ 21, were they based upon a GAZ 4 or GAZ M1.

So I don´t really know what more I can tell you.... :-\

GRAYWOLF

I believe that is where I got the picture, but I am not sure. That site is blocked by WebSense so I can't look it up right now.

Might be an idea to determine whether this one is considered solved or not...  ;)

Well, I totally forgot this, too.

Let´s initiate a discussion group for this puzzle...

GRAYWOLF

I forgot about it as well...

I did get it from that site. The site identifies it as a rare truck, one that the site builder has never seen in person, nor in registration books.

I don't know what else i can add to this without giving it all away. If you find the right page, i have given you all the info needed to find it.

It's a GAZ VM, according to that site. If that's the response you're after, I insist the point go to Grob.

You wanna be the man, you gotta Name That Car!

grobmotorix

Well, I knew it s a half-track car by NATI on Gaz-M1 chassis, built around 1938, but I had no model designation...

GRAYWOLF

I'll give you both one (just to cover my backside!)
