I'll post the correct ID-ers (and award the points) when they are all identified.
The fact is, though, that apart from my three, thus far "the correct ID-ers" are (tam-tara-taa) Paul Jaray...
True...
:bump:
Two of the yet-to-be-identified vehicles are very well-know concept vehicles - one of them was an AutoPuzzles puzzle subject in its own right some time back.

Very good - three left!
Hi, I think that even if my guess for car D is correct (lincoln continental) when you first said it was wrong, there are still 4 cars to be identified: G R V X.
Right, and right.
5 to go... ;D
X- Mazda Furai
I'd think #R might be the third prototype by Wimille, presented on the Salon de Paris in 1950.

No Wimille in this puzzle.
R - Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray
X - Mazda Furai
R probably isn't the Vette..

X was already ID'd (above)
Is V an unmodified production car?
Maybe I give it away now, but is it based on a VW T1 (Bus)?
No sir.
In-house Prototype or something customized?
VW T2? ;)
Quote from: Allemano on November 28, 2008, 11:43:51 AM
In-house Prototype or something customized?
The former is closer to accurate, except there was no house yet, when the picture was taken.
G – Ford Maxima concept 1963
R- Lamborghini 350GT or 400GT (1964-1966) or perhaps 350GTV prototype of 1963?

Yes!
This leaves 2:
D - Not a Lincoln
V - Not a Volkswagen
AAARRRGGGHHH! never expected puzzle 'R' is so easy! >:(
If it's any consolation, you've solved some of the toughest ones here (at AutoPuzzles).
The two that remain are not too difficult, so more points are on offer there, too.
D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, D, Wee-ooh wim-o-weh.
Nope, it's not a Lion, a King, or a Simba. I just wanted to remind you that "D" is ripe for the picking...
:bump:
Perhaps a newcomer can finish this one up?
V: Dymaxion Car #1
Only the elusive "D" remains.
Was 'D' a custom-built car?

I don't believe so. I'll check the answer key at home.

Was 'D' a custom-built car?
Yep, a one-off. A proof-of-concept vehicle from a company that produced similar cars, but not of this configuration. The car is visually closer to another brand from this manufacturer.
Is it somewhat related to Jeep?
Other than country of origin, no.
GM Group?
No sir.
Chrysler group?
Uh-uh
Jeep Chrysler?
"Uh-uh" = no
Not a Chrysler or Jeep
Ford Group?
Nope

Independent? (AMC, Nash, Hudson, Packard, Studebaker, Kaiser or Tucker)
As it's not a GM, Ford or Chrysler product, that's a pretty safe bet.
Any chance it's an Auburn?
I can see why you would think so, but no, not exactly.

But is one of that list?
Quote from: Paul Jaray on June 28, 2009, 03:16:05 PM
But is one of that list?
Are you setting an Erbas trap?
Probably I don't get this...
If I ask if it's in a list of 7 different makers, it doesn't mean that I'm asking for which one. When someone ask if a car is Japanese, for example, aren't there less than 10 major makers?
I tought the Erbas rule was against questions like:
Is it AMC? Or a Nash? ...
In my case you can answer yes or not.
But it's your call so...
Is it AMC?
No sir.
To clarify what I meant. If you list multiple makers, and it is one of those, what you have stated is mostly correct. However, if it is not one of those, you would have eliminated multiple brands with one post.
So, I'm not saying it is or it isn't.
Luminous.
A sophisticated, but quite logical, refinement of the Erbas rule.

Is it Japanese?
If it's not, aren't you 'eliminated multiple brands with one post'?
Isn't what you did when you wrote it's not GM?
That list cames from a book, where there are the big 3 plus these independents...there are many more, of course, but it was a way to eliminate some of them, aren't all the questions about that?
But it's just a game and I'll follow the rules.
Is this company known for big vehicles, such as trucks, pick-ups, SUV...
Yes, of course - I can see your.point. Sorry if I muddied the waters.
Since you've been so patient, here's a big clue.
Ray last guess on page 3 was very close to correct.

No.
Duesenberg Gentlemen's Speedster Prototype 1936!
Voila! Eureka! Ye-ha!
That's the car, alright.
I'll tally up everyone's points early tomorrow.
..
Argh! When you said I was close I thought you meant a Cord or Duesie, but i couldn't find that precise grille nowhere.
I was sure you were going to get that one, Ray.
Not to worry - more puzzles where that one came from. :)
Here are the points:
