A new sketch puzzle — free for all!

What's this drawing showing and what was it meant to be?
What car was at the end of the development?

faksta

For some reason it looks so familiar. Could it be a Mercedes G-Klasse sketch?

Aaargh! You're so close!

In other words: part 3 of the puzzle is disclosed!  Go ahead, only complete answers are scoring!

faksta

I think I have it somewhere. But where??? So, it's a Mercedes, but not a home design?

Allemano

No, it's not a home design..

faksta

It was meant to be a German army car?

Allemano

No... You have to check the history. It's easy to find!

faksta

I hope you mean a project of the car for Shah of Persia.

It startet somewhere else and ended as the Mercedes G.
It shouldn't be that hard anymore!

faksta

G-Klasse was designed by Steyr-Daimler-Puch...

Allemano

Voila! And what was the project name for this particular design?

faksta

#12
H2? At least this was a name for G in the beginning.

Allemano

That's correct, but what means H2?
Locked for you till your next reply!

faksta

Haflinger 2, I'd suppose.

Allemano

Yes! It was a sketch for the Haflinger 2 made in-house by Steyr-Puch, but the project later became the Mercedes-Benz G-Klass.
