Experts?
Doesn't look like the car for everyday use, but did it actually race? Or am I mistaken with its purpose?
Yes, this is a bit of a specialized breed - or should I say hybrid?
(no - not gas/electric, but hybrid in the animal husbandry sense of the word)
Engine swap you mean? That big bonnet so much reminds me of the one on Fiat S76, so maybe that's the engine used?
You are thinking along the right path, but no Fiat engine here.
By the way, that grille also looks very Mercedes like. Would it lead to something?
It would not.
Isotta-Fraschini somewhere in there?
To the best of my knowledge, there are no Isotta-Fraschini mechanical components in this car.
Is the chassis a mechenical component?
Pros?
Petrol/electric / hybrid?
No

This car seems to have no gear shifter... Is it steam powered?
No sir.
Airplane engine?
Nope.
It´s an Abadal from Spain?
Did the painting help? ;)
Locked for 24 hours for you to finish this off.
It's Abadal - _____________ .
That´s the Abadal-Buick! ,Buick powered with Abadal coachwork...and I believe that who is driving this one is Francisco (Paco) Abadal. ;D
Well done! Two more points on offer for the Puzzler who can name the lady in the painting, and who painted her.
It is Sefiora Abadal De'Argemi, painted by Salvador Dali in 1926.
Nicely done, by our resident fine arts AutoPuzzler.
Funny. I have a picture of the car, but didn't recognize it :)
...the dark fuzzy pic taken from a museum? Me too, but didn't make the match either.. :-\
Yes, that one :)
This car is a sporty Buick Abadal-Race, which was popularly known as the ABADAL CENTELLA.
