What's the complete name of this car and who 'designed' it?
moved.
Is it some sort of Fiat 126-based safety car proposal?
Sort of, but the main task is to figure out who has styled it?!
Looks a bit Porsche-ish :P
Fiat ESV ( experimental safety vehicle ), the 126 came after this car, I believe.
Dante Giacosa was the main designer at Fiat at the time.
Sorry, but that's a different car. The design was done by a man who usually hasn't been related to automotive design
It's on the first page, time to move it to the Pros! :)
a bump(er)! :bump:
So not the ESV...
But is it Fiat based?
Those look a lot like Fiat 500R/ early 126 wheels...
( before the 126 switched to the 98mm boltpattern )
Indeed Fiat 126 based.
I give you a close look to another creation of that mysterious designer:
From what I can find, that is the 1958 Transmaster 7 Transistor Radio
Client: La Rinascente.
And La Riascente was ( is?) a department store.
Was the car built for them?
Scratch that...
I found it.
1974 Softnose X126 prototype
Design by Richard Sapper
Great job! A well deserved point! :) :)
I had not heard of Richard Sapper before.
I learned something, thanks.
He designed some cool stuff, that radio must have been really cuting edge in '58...
That Fiat, not so much...
Hard to beat the shape of a 500N / F/ or R. ;D
