??? I know of two Ginetta cars that bear the designation G20, but it surely isn't any of those.

The original G20 was a brave attempt of creating an F1 car with a BRM V8 engine in 1969. It was aborted during the design stage, due to costs.

Later the G20 moniker was used in 2001 for G27-developed racecar, which is still in production I think.

So, what is this??

Can anyone confirm and document that this scale model is really a Ginetta project?

I once saved the pic from another board, but got no additional information except of the name.
The design is so different from other Ginetta cars and the design vocabulary screams USA!
I only could imagine that it is a design for a possible G12 successor.

Generously as I am I even would spend another point for it.  :)

This pic appears in Peter Filby's book "Specialist Sports Cars" with the caption "Another ill-fated exotic GT - a scale model of the Ginetta G20".
He goes on to say: "Developed from the G12, the projected and beautiful G20 was to have a Ford V6 [mid] engine with five-speed ZF gearbox. Unfortunately, doubts as to its sales potential because of hopelessly limited luggage space (typical of the layout) and the extremely high cost of the gearbox, eventually resulted in the G20 becoming no more than an attractive model"
