I just received a good book about 'vintage american road racing cars' and this very car is called 'Tholen-Crosley', built by Dale Tholen of Culver City, California.
The square tube ladder frame was Tholen's design as well as the fiberglass body.
I think the title should be changed in 'Tholen-Crosley Special 1954'
