Now, you're probably saying, "Wait a minute, odd-user-name-guy... all cars have names!" Well, yes, but these cars really have names! And hopefully it won't take you long to see what I mean.
(P.S.: These cars almost all have one other, very basic thing in common, which I didn't plan on but oddly found I couldn't avoid. Again, you'll see what I mean.)
Set 1 of 2:
-
Set 2 of 2:
-
I understand what you mean, so come to us, Experts little puzzle :)
-
OK, I'm going to toss these to the Experts, who I predict will devour several (but not all) of them in short order.
-
#1 1930 michel irat type CB2 berline
#2 1930 Bollack Coach
#4 1913 leon bollee G2 double diligence
#6 1923 georges-irat type 4R torpédo sport by aubertin
#8 1903 georges richard type H 10HP 2 seater coupe
#9 1923 Benjamim
-
#1 - Correct, 1930 Michel Irat -- I don't have model name handy
#2 - You're correct, but part of the answer is missing
#4 - Correct make name, I have it as a 1911 G1 Double Berline de Voyage
#6 - Correct make name, I have it as a 4A
#8 - Correct make name, I have it as a 1902 Type CB2
#9 - Incorrect
I'll give you points for #1, 4, 6 & 8 since you have the full make names. I need the rest of the answer for #2.
See the theme yet? ;D
-
Number 10 Benjamin? I guessed the wrong number I think...
Number 7 is a Georges Roy 12-HP Touring Sport Torpedo from 1909
-
Number #2 - Lucien Bollack?
-
Correct on #2 & #7.
No Benjamin to be found here, though - you don't quite have the hang of the theme yet, apparently!
Also, I have the Lucien Bollack as 1929, not 1930.
-
:bag: #9:1925 Jean Gras
-
#5 is a 1903 Tony Huber... ;D
-
Right on both counts! This is going even faster than I expected. But it's the remaining 3 that I've expected to be hardest...
-
CWN3: Germain Lambert coupe?
CWN10: Jean Graff cyclecar?
-
Nope on both.
-
CWN3: Theo Schneider?
-
Nope.
-
cwn03: could that be a Robert Serf?
-
Nope - I'd looked for that one, but couldn't find a pic that I could be sure was one.
BTW, I think it's obvious by now that the "other" common ground is that the cars are French -- but there is one exception.
-
OK, the last 3 names still have not been named. Time to open up to the Pros.
-
No 11: Luc Court?
-
Nope. (I won't even ask if that was actually someone's name.)
-
Nope. (I won't even ask if that was actually someone's name.)
You didn't say it had to be someone's name - in this case, I'm not sure but it could have been!
No 10: Jacques Muller?
-
Yes! 2 to go!
OK, now I'm saying it has to be someone's name! ::)
-
OK, it's been a week of no activity. Time a couple of hints.
#3 is the one not made in France.
#11 was a short-lived make of which I suspect this is the only surviving example.
-
#3 - 1921 Victor Page Aero-Type Four Sedan :D
-
and the last one is a Jean-Bart from 1907?
-
Right on the first, but not the second...
Who will get the last one?
-
OK, a hint: The last one's name makes it sound like a "relative" of one of the other cars (I don't know that it actually is).
-
Could the last one be a Pierre Roy?
-
It could indeed! (And it was quite a job finding a pic of it on the 'net, too!)
