Now, you're probably saying, "Wait a minute, odd-user-name-guy... all cars have names!" Well, yes, but these cars really have names! And hopefully it won't take you long to see what I mean.

(P.S.: These cars almost all have one other, very basic thing in common, which I didn't plan on but oddly found I couldn't avoid. Again, you'll see what I mean.)

Set 1 of 2:
"May I submit 'Utopian Turtletop'? Do not trouble to answer unless you like it."
-- Marianne Moore, suggesting a name for what would become the Edsel

I understand what you mean, so come to us, Experts little puzzle :)

ftg3plus4

OK, I'm going to toss these to the Experts, who I predict will devour several (but not all) of them in short order.

#5
#1 - Correct, 1930 Michel Irat -- I don't have model name handy
#2 - You're correct, but part of the answer is missing
#4 - Correct make name, I have it as a 1911 G1 Double Berline de Voyage
#6 - Correct make name, I have it as a 4A
#8 - Correct make name, I have it as a 1902 Type CB2
#9 - Incorrect

I'll give you points for #1, 4, 6 & 8 since you have the full make names. I need the rest of the answer for #2.

See the theme yet?  ;D

Number 10 Benjamin? I guessed the wrong number I think...
Number 7 is a Georges Roy 12-HP Touring Sport Torpedo from 1909

ftg3plus4

#8
Correct on #2 & #7.
No Benjamin to be found here, though - you don't quite have the hang of the theme yet, apparently!

Also, I have the Lucien Bollack as 1929, not 1930.

Right on both counts! This is going even faster than I expected. But it's the remaining 3 that I've expected to be hardest...

Nope - I'd looked for that one, but couldn't find a pic that I could be sure was one.

BTW, I think it's obvious by now that the "other" common ground is that the cars are French -- but there is one exception.

ftg3plus4

OK, the last 3 names still have not been named. Time to open up to the Pros.

Opinionated but sometimes wrong

ftg3plus4

Nope. (I won't even ask if that was actually someone's name.)

You didn't say it had to be someone's name - in this case, I'm not sure but it could have been!

No 10: Jacques Muller?

Yes! 2 to go!

OK, now I'm saying it has to be someone's name!  ::)

OK, it's been a week of no activity. Time a couple of hints.

#3 is the one not made in France.

#11 was a short-lived make of which I suspect this is the only surviving example.
