Some facts have to be put straight here. The builder's name is Hans Waibel, nor Weibel as in the header. Furthermore it is not a Porsche, but a rebodied 1948 VW Export (chassis number 1-085552) which had overturned, so that the body couldn't be used anymore. The car was sold to Alfred Debrunner who let the VW engine be replaced by a Porsche 1500 unit with 55 instead of the VW's 25 hp. In a Swiss Classics article the car is called VW Special Sport Cabriolet.

Of course working with the information available in 2009 things can always change as more is either found out or appears in other places, esp. magazines.

The car is in Argentina right now and up for sale, again falsely labelled, this time as a "1948 Waible / Porsche 356 Cabriolet".  :-[
