Sometimes two unrelated makes coincidentally have the same name... and most of the time the best-known one isn't the one that comes first.
The first set of cars (A1-A8) includes examples of makes that most of you should recognize pretty easily.
The second set of cars (B1-B8) includes ones that aren't quite as well-known. Each of these cars has exactly the same make name as one of the cars in the first set, and each one came before its namesake historically.
Match a car from the first set with its namesake from the second set, and tell me what the shared make name is. At the end, 8 points will be rewarded, one for each match.

Here's the second set:

Hey, between you and Otto with "Buy this car", you've rejuvanated the group puzzles, and it's music to my ears.
-
Movin' on up to Experts.
-
A1 and B1 both Morgan
-
Incorrect.
-
A2 - B1: Both cars are Kaiser; the first from USA (maybe Custom, DeLuxe or Manhattan), and the second is from Germany, known as the "Cheapest three-wheeler car in the World".
-
Yes!!
-
A7 - B3 Both cars are Gaylord. The first car is Jim and Ed Gaylords dream car from 1955, designed by Brooks Stevens. The second car is a 1911 Gaylord 30, from the Gaylord Motor Company, Gaylord, Michigan.
-
Dude, you're on fire today!
-
A4 - B2 Triumph The first is a Triumph Dolomite, the second is a Triumph Electric Car from Chicago.
-
Incorrect.
-
A5 ( 1935 Austin Light 12/6 with Ascot body) with B7 ( American Austin Touring ).
-
A6 ( 1938 Pontiac Deluxe 2 door sedan ) with B2 ( Pontiac Buggy Company High Wheeler).
-
Correct on both counts!
-
A8 ( Davis 3 wheeler 1948 ) with B6 ( George W. DAVIS Motor Car touring )
-
One more for you!
5 down, 3 to go...
P.S.: Note that, even if someone happens to guess the first make correctly, I am not counting it unless they also get its match.
-
A4 ( 1937 Triumph Dolomite Roadster ) with B8 (1907 Triumph Model A Runabout )
-
A3 ( 1938 DeSoto Sedan ) with B5 (1913 de Soto Six 55 )
-

A4 / B8 - Triumph (Joćo)
A5 / B7 - Austin (Joćo)
A6 / B2 - Pontiac (Joćo)
A7 / B3 - Gaylord (alecwolf)
A8 / B6 - Davis (Joćo)

By elimination, A1 and B4 must both be Morgans - but I have to confess that I have never heard of a Morgan other than the Malvern product
-
That's OK.
There was a Morgan from Germany (1924-25) with an unusual "diamond" wheel layout. Apparently this is what gilescooperuk thought B1 was.
The Morgan in B4 was made about 1905-06 in the UK (though my pic is a "1907" model). There were only about 5 made.

::) A totally undeserved point
But it justifies my signature ;)

In case anyone is interested: Here is an actual photograph of the 1913 De Soto Six. (This is the only image I've seen of the car besides the easy-to-find ad drawing I originally posted.)
