Are the car in the drawing and the photo supposed to be the same car? I see little in common between the two.

A British colur supplement ( Daily Telegraph ?) held a competition in the late sixties early seventies for the design of a sports/GT car based on Ford Escort running gear. The prize was that the winning design would be built and exhibited at Earls Court. Is this the car?

University of Toronto hybrid (hand-made machine) is the best I can find...

This car, nicknamed UT1,was an Hybrid-car made by the University of Toronto to enter the 'Clean-Air Car Race' in 1970. This car was powered by a v8 Chevy engine converted to propane and an aircraft starter\generator. Chassis and running gear, basically Corvair, had been modified to carry ten 12-volt batteries.
