Here's a rather interesting little car that never made it beyond the prototype stage.  An early design from someone who is best remembered these days for his work for two major manufacturers and one smaller firm .  Anyone know what it is called and who designed it?

Is this the Deroy built by Gerald Palmer?

Yes, it is - and I quote from the MG Car Club site:
QuoteWhile at Scammell, Palmer was privately commissioned to create a unique sports car for the racing driver, Joan Richmond, and thus was born the Deroy. With independent suspension front and rear, the Deroy was in many respects well ahead of its time, and it served as an important influence on Palmers life. Seeking to get into the mainstream of the motor industry, he went for an interview with Cecil Kimber at MG. He drove to Abingdon in the Deroy, which clearly impressed the great man. This resulted in the offer of a job in charge of M.G. work at the Morris drawing office in Cowley, where the Y-Type was under development.

Palmer apparently named it after after a tin mine his father owned in Mozambique.

Wow! That's great I just wonder where this picture could be taken from since it looks to be from somewhere non-online (only the biography of Gerlad Palmer is easily available).

My first guess would be a camera.

I know it's a bit late, but I just noticed this question now.  Gerald Palmer's autobiography does contain quite a bit about the Deroy, and a number of photographs, but the pictures I used came from a different source:

And for those that want to know more about the Deroy, here are some pages I scanned a while back from Palmer's book.  The images are quite large, so rather than posting the images directly to this thread, I'm posting links to them instead.
