I know it's a long shot, but is it something AstonMartin related?

Otto Puzzell

No, not an Aston, or Aston-related.

This one-of-a-kind vehicle comes from outside of Old Blighty

This type of grille shape was such a common thing on 40s-50s racers...
One more Australian mystery?

Otto Puzzell

No - far from there (geographically).

The wheels seem European. Maybe German?

Otto Puzzell

Getting closer, but not quite there.

Swiss? Afetr all, where else would you see the house with a garage full of Astons and Jaguars?  ;D

Otto Puzzell

That may be where the picture was snapped (I don't know, for sure). But this car was not built there.

Looks as if it should be BMW-based, but the exhausts are the wrong side for a 328 engine - or has the photo been reversed?
Opinionated but sometimes wrong

Otto Puzzell

Not a BMW.

Other than resizing and adding a white border. I have not altered this photo.

Allemano means that I found it where the Satecmo Eolia (Wdyci# 298) was.

1971 cc is BMW 328/Bristol capacity.
A bit of Googling shows that the photo at the head of this thread was reversed and there is even a photo of the BMW engine (and a genuine left-side view).

1971 is a bit too late for such a car  :o
Damn stupid thing - I've confused the capacity with a production year in the posts above :D

I did not reverse the photo. I took it as I found on the site offering the car for sale.

I didn't say that you had reversed it, but (on each occasion) that it had been reversed - which it had. The "for sale" ad had a thumbnail of a right rear threequarter view with exhausts on that side, so one was bound to be wrong.

Still around, still unrestored and still for sale with an added grill.
