Chinese car, Ho Ping or He Ping ?

I must say my source on this one is very dodgy, so any additional/correct information is welcome.
But according to my source, it is not Chinese.

It looks very similar to a Russian ZLIN or ZIL sedan. Gonna have to percolate on this one.

I sure looks like a Russian GAZ Tchaika.  I will keep looking.

I have it as Triumph from Vietnam, supposedly based on GAZ 21 Volga and built in c.1959.

I think we bumped on the same source  ;D

More information could be added later, if anyone would interested...

As far as I understood Vietnam was not a model name, not sure though.

Presumably that's a translated name.

Chien Tang is it's name in Vietnamese. Presumably it's name is derived from the Russian car it was derived from; Pobeda. (To be honest, it looks like the Tsjaika to me too)

I know the original source where does this picture comes from (a period magazine)... And here's the translation of what's written about this car there: http://findrarecar.co.cc/?p=605

A magazine from the GDR was the source I heard it was taken from through a Russian source. It has travelled a long way.
